Meet your therapist
A little about me
I’m Eliza, a BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, EMDR Therapist and qualified Youth Worker with over 15 years’ experience working in children’s mental health services.
I started my career in 2011 as a Youth Worker running youth clubs and mentoring teenagers in schools before moving into a CAMHS (Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service) Youth Worker role in 2013. During my 9 years in this position I trained in a range of approaches including CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy) and PCP (Personal Construct Psychology) and completed a postgraduate certificate in child and adolescent mental health. These experiences then laid the foundation for me to qualify as a CBT Therapist in 2023, and more recently as an EMDR Therapist.
The most important thing
At the heart of my work is something simple: the therapeutic relationship matters most. Research tells us that when someone feels safe, understood and has a genuine connection with their therapist, real change is possible. What does that mean for my practice? Well, as a Youth Worker I know how to connect with people in a real, relatable way - and as a Therapist I know how to bring in structure, evidence-based tools and clinical depth from my years of experience & training. It means I can meet my patients where they are at, help them feel comfortable within the therapy space and support them in moving forward in a way that feels steady and achievable.
